Despite speculation linking the player with the Premiership, Espanyol midfielder Javi Marquez insists he is not thinking of leaving the Barcelona-based club in January. Marquez has been a key player in Espanyol's success in the Primera Division this season and was linked with moves to Tottenham and Wigan this week.
"I'm not aware of interest from Premiership teams and I haven't got any English books - I'm only thinking about the game against Hercules on Sunday, which is very important for the group," he said.
Marquez came through the youth system at Espanyol and says he feels a big affiliation with the Catalan club.
"I'm a homegrown player and I have always liked being here," he said.
"What you have inside is a feeling and all I think about is playing well because thinking about other things would be stupid and it's not worth it."
