Police investigating claims of corruption in Premiership football transfers have received new evidence, reports The Mirror. City of London police refused to discuss details but a spokesman said: "As a result of recently received new information there is a need for further inquiries both in the UK and overseas."

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp and Birmingham City MD Karren Brady are among those being probed.

All deny any wrongdoing and are on bail.
