Premiership clubs consider swoop for Sheff Utd youngster Slew

Jordan Slew, a youth product at League OneSheffield United, is one of the Blades' brightest emerging talents at Bramall Lane and new boss Danny Wilson is keen to keep the 18 year old in South Yorkshire. "We've spoken again with Jordan and his agent. Now we're hoping to hear back from them again soon," Wilson told the Sheffield Star.

"We're not going to be asking them to give us an answer by any set time and we're hopeful that we've made an impression on them with what we've said.

"Obviously if Jordan comes back and tells us that he wants to go then that puts things in a different light, but he knows we want him to stay here."

Slew has been linked with a move away from Bramall Lane this summer, with Premier League club Fulham having reportedly made an unsuccessful £500,000 bid for his services. West Brom and Norwich are also reported to be monitoring his progress.

Wilson added: "I believe what we've told Jordan and his agent makes a lot of sense.

"I've made it clear that I think he's better off playing games here with us than he is going somewhere else and having to wait for a chance.

"We're hopeful that he'll stay but nothing is ever 100 per cent so I'm not going to lie by saying this is.

"Obviously we want a positive resolution as soon as possible though. I think that goes without saying."
