PREMIER LEAGUE WRAP: Arsenal back to winners list, Man City into second as Reading and Fulham involved in thriller

Saturday's Premier League action has seen another handful of interesting results which yielded wins for Arsenal, Manchester City and Wigan Athletic.

The day kicked off at Villa Park with ten-man Aston Villa conceding a late goal to Norwich City in their 1-1 draw which came courtesy of Michael Turner cancelling out Christian Benteke's opener and also saw Joe Bennett sent off for two bookable offences.

Another match which ended with one side having ten men was Arsenal's 1-0 home result over QPR thanks to Mikel Arteta's 84th minute goal. Stephane Mbia was given his marching orders for kicking out at Gunners skipper Thomas Vermaelen in a game which saw the home side dominate for large periods but only hit the back of the net very late.

Reading and Fulham produced a six-goal thriller at the Madejski Stadium in a contest which saw the Royals take the lead before trailing 2-1, then levelling, then going behind again prior to a late equaliser.

Mikele Leigertwood gave Reading the lead in the 26th minute before Bryan Ruiz and Chris Baird put the Cottagers ahead and then Garath McCleary made it 2-2 for the home side. Dimitar Berbatov then put the Londoners in front again with a late finish but Hal Robson-Kanu grabbed his side a point at the death.

Elsewhere, Wigan Athletic beat West Ham United 2-1 at the DW Stadium thanks to a sublime volley from Spanish defender Ivan Ramis, Stoke City and Sunderland played out a scoreless draw and Carlos Tevez allowed Manchester City to beat Swansea City 1-0.

Tomorrow sees the Merseyside derby between Everton and Liverpool at Goodison Park, league leaders Chelsea host third-placed Manchester United, West Bromwich Albion heads to Newcastle United and Southampton meet Tottenham at St Mary's.
