According to the Repucom Kit Supplier Report 2012/13, produced in cooperation with PR Marketing, Liverpool’s kit deal with Boston-based Warrior – thought to be worth around US$38.3 million annually – and Tottenham Hotspur’s US$16 million-a-year deal with Baltimore-headquartered Under Armour, which both began this season, were major contributors to a 32 per cent increase in the total value of the 20 clubs’ kit deals.

As a result of the US deals and continued investment from traditional suppliers Nike, Adidas and Puma, Premier League clubs received US$9.2 million on average from their kit deals during the 2012/13 season; the highest of any European league.

That figure is almost double the US$5.2 average in Spain’s Primera División, which ranks second, and considerably more than the average in Italy’s Serie A (US$4.1 million), Germany’s Bundesliga (US$3.98) and Ligue 1 in France (US$2.1 million).
