Wolves hopes of avoiding Championship football next season took a severe knock as they went down 3-0 at Molineux to a rampant Everton. The last three meetings between these two teams had ended in draws and how Wolves which history had repeated itself.
They started off brightly, missed chances, then incredibly found themselves three goals behind by the break as Everton showed a clinical edge to their play missing from the home side.
Jermain Beckford opened the scoring for the visitor's, slightly against the run of play, on 21 minutes. An Everton counter attack ended with a centre which Beckford easily converted.
Then two goals just before the break sealed the three points for the Toffees.
First off Phil Neville hits a loose ball into the top corner and then on the stroke of half-time Diniyar Bilyaletdinov collects a wayward pass in midfield and Wolves are instantly punished as the Russian powers forward to blast number three.
Everton easily rebuffed Wolves attempt to save the game as the second half ambled to its inevitable conclusion.
Wolves remain in the bottom three whilst Everton continue in seventh place.
