PREMIER LEAGUE: West Brom grab late equaliser to deny Bolton big victory

West Bromwich Albion have scored a late leveller to force a 2-2 draw against Bolton at the Reebok Stadium which sees the Trotters remain in the relegation zone.

Bolton opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 24th minute through Martin Petrov after Mark Davies had been brought down in the area by both Keith Andrews and Youssuf Mulumbu.

With just under 20 minutes left, Owen Coyle's men went two ahead in quite fortuitous circumstances when Petrov's cross from the left was to be cleared by Liam Ridgwell but the Baggies defender saw his effort hit the chest of an unsuspecting Billy Jones and in past a desperate Ben Foster.

Three minutes later, however, the visitors gave themselves hopes when Shane Long teed up Chris Brunt who fired home with his trusty left foot from just inside the area.

The Trotters had everyone pushed behind the ball to try and hold out their 2-1 lead but Albion substitutes Simon Cox combined with James Morrison to see the latter tap in from close range to give new England manager Roy Hodgson a point on the road.

The draw kept the Baggies 10th on the table but Bolton will now have to beat Stoke City away next weekend and hope that QPR are beaten by Manchester City for them to remain in the top flight.
