Stoke battled back from twice falling behind to record a 3-2 win over Sunderland at the Britannia Stadium courtesy of two goals in the last seven minutes. Stoke have now won their last four homes games against Sunderland by a one goal margin although for a large part of this game the Potters were trailing until the Robert Huth late show gave them all three points.
The visitor's had the best possible start by taking the lead after only two minutes - Kieran Richardson converting Phil Bardsley's low cross for the visitors on two minutes.
John Carew then levelled just after the half-hour from what seemed an offside position.
The Black Cats leading scorer Asamoah Gyan, with his eighth goal of the campaign, fired in just after the break and that's the way it remained with seven minutes to go.
Two Jermaine Pennant free-kicks were to prove the saviour for Stoke as on both occasions, the second deep into added time, defender Huth was on hand to score and totally deflate the Sunderland team.
