Celtic's Virgil van Dijk can become a top quality centre-back such are his qualities according to a former boss.
Pieter Huistra, who coached the 23-year old at FC Groningen, believes his former player has at his disposal a very bright career with a big club in Europe.
Speaking to The Express from Indonesia, where he acts as the national team's technical director, ex-Rangers winger Huistra was full of praise for Hoops ace van Dijk who is on the radar of a number of Premier League clubs including Arsenal, Manchester United, Tottenham, Southampton, Newcastle United and Sunderland.
"Virgil has power, athleticism, is a great passer of the ball and has learned more about defending. He has all the attributes a centre-half needs in the modern game," he said.
"His debut for me came as a substitute striker and he caused all sorts of problems with his pace and power. But he was always going to be a defender."
