PREMIER LEAGUE: Swansea return to winning ways over Wigan

Swansea City have ended a five-game winless run by beating Wigan Atheltic 2-1 at the Liberty Stadium today.

The Welsh side ended a poor run of results thanks to Pablo Hernandez's debut goal for the club which came in the 65th minute when he received a pass from Jonathan de Guzman before turning and slotting a low shot past Ali Al Habsi.

Two minutes later, Swans star Michu grabbed his sixth of the campaign when he glanced home de Guzman's corner at the near post before Emmerson Boyce gave the Latics some hope in the 69th minute with an acrobatic finish from James McCarthy's mishit effort.

However, Michael Laudrup's men held onto their lead and managed to move up to 10th on the table as Roberto Martinez's Wigan hang precariously over the drop zone on just five points from eight outings.
