PREMIER LEAGUE: Stoke hold out Swansea following Bojan penalty

Stoke City have made it three wins on the trot with a narrow 1-0 triumph over Swansea City on Monday night.

Bojan Krkic scored the only goal of the contest at the Liberty Stadium as the Potters climbed up 11th position on the Premier League table as the Swans dropped to 14th.

Stoke made it back-to-back away wins by defending resolutely after Bojan had converted form the penalty spot in the fourth minute following a foul from Ashley Williams.

Mark Hughes' men could have counted themselves lucky when goalkeeper Jack Butland was not penalised for a studs-up challenge on Andre Ayew but referee Robert Madley waved play on.

The visitors were hemmed in their own half for much of the contest as Garry Monk's men pressed for an equaliser but the Welsh side were unable to really test Butland as Stoke came away with a vital trio of points, recording their third win of the campaign and extended their unbeaten run to four.

Swansea, while not in bad form, have now failed to win in their past five matches of which three have been losses.
