Blackpool are out of the bottom three on goal difference but will regard this scoreless home draw with Stoke as an opportunity missed to claim three points. Stoke became the first team to keep a clean sheet at Blackpool this season. The Seasiders had their moments but overall struggled to break down a resolute Potters defence.
The visitor's had the best chance of the game in the first half when Kenwyne Jones contrived to fire wide of an empty net.
Matt Phillips saw his low near-post volley well saved by Stoke keeper Asmir Begovic after half-time but again it was Stoke who nearly broke the deadlock, this time Glen Whelan's effort from distance was saved.
Blackpool have three games left to preserve their top flight berth otherwise it will be an immediate return to the Championship.
