PREMIER LEAGUE: Stalemate between ten-man Norwich and Newcastle

Norwich City and Newcastle United have played out a 0-0 draw at Carrow Road on Tuesday night.

Both sides had men sent off late in the game which the visiting Magpies dominated earlier only to see dangerous efforts miss the target, particularly in the first half.

The Toon were unlucky on two occasions when a deflection off Canaries midfielder Bradley Johnson and a efforts from Loic Remy (twice) could not beat the woodwork before Norwich had some opportunities of their own with Gary Hooper seeing an attempt saved by Tim Krul and another hitting the crossbar.

With just under ten minutes remaining, Remy and Johnson were involved in a tussle which led to both players being shown red cards after the Frenchman leant in with his head. Referee Chris Foy had no hesitations in brandishing the card for Remy while his assistant informed him to provide the same fate for Johnson.

With just minutes remaining, Toon keeper Krul came up with a vital save to deny Robert Snodgrass as Alan Pardew's men held on for a point which kept them eighth on the table while the Canaries stayed 12th.
