QPR have given themselves every hope of remaining in the Premier League by beating Swansea City 3-0 at Loftus Road tonight.
The R's moved two points away from the relegation mire with their third home win on the trot whilst inflicting a fourth successive defeat on the Swans who are in a very bad run of form.
Joey Barton got things started for Mark Hughes' side when he controlled a clearing header from Adel Taarabt's free-kick in stoppage time of the first half to rocket a low shot past a helpless Michel Vorm.
That goal had the West Londoners rocking going into the break and they came out with plenty of confidence to score within ten minutes through Jamie Mackie who turned on his defender before seeing his left-footed attempt deflect off Angel Rangel and past a wrong-footed Vorm to make it 2-0.
That two-goal buffer was stretched to three with just over 20 minutes left when Akos Buzsaky wrapped things up with a thunderous 30-yard effort which would almost brought the place crashing down.
It was a superb performance by QPR who have mixed their home and away form of late but, nonetheless, they are now a strong chance of staying up if they can maintain this quality of game.
TRIBAL ASKS: Have Swansea rested on their laurels knowing that they have survived their first season in the Premier League? They have been very poor lately On the other hand, is this the win that gives QPR renewed survival hope?
