PREMIER LEAGUE: Man Utd hammer five past ten-men Wolves

Manchester United made no mistake in extending their lead at the top of the Premier League to four points after cruising to a 5-0 success at Wolves who were reduced to ten-men and are now bottom of the pile. This was Wolves ninth home game without a win and have now conceded 19 goals in their last six games and their task was not helped with the sending off just before the break of Ronald Zubar for a second yellow card.

The host's were already trailing by two goals and when another was added on the stroke of half-time it was damage limitation for the Premier League's bottom side.

United refused to sit back and duly added another couple in a five minute second half-spell to bring them within three goals of second placed Manchester City's goal difference.

Wolves miserable afternoon began when Jonny Evans opened the scoring on 20 minutes from close range. Six minutes before the interval a swift break from the visitor's ended with Antonio Valencia firing home.

Then came the dismissal quickly followed by the killer third goal as Valencia turned provider for Danny Welbeck.

Javier Hernandez added two more goals as hapless Wolves collapsed for the perfect response to United's disappointing European exit in mid-week.
