Manchester City continue to roll along with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Stoke City at Etihad Stadium tonight.
A brace from Sergio Aguero and a fine finish from Adam Johnson have seen Roberto Mancini's men remain at the top of the table with an astonishing 53 goals from 17 matches which has yielded them 44 points.
City hit the front just prior to the half-hour mark when David Silva played in Yaya Toure whose shot from the left was saved by Thomas Sorensen with Aguero finishing with a simple tap-in that looked to have a hint of off-side in it.
A second was added seven minutes later when a bad Stoke pass from deep in their own area fell to Johnson who struck firmly with the help of a deflection from 25 yards and the match was essentially wrapped up less than ten minutes into the second half when Samir Nasri got free in the area to cut back for Aguero who was on hand to turn it in for his 13th of the season.
Sorensen was at it all night for the Potters, producing a number of big saves, including a diving tip-over to deny Johnson's 42nd minute free-kick, a couple of seemingly straightforward blocks to keep out Aguero prior to the hour-mark and a sharp angled save to deny Gareth Barry who had been played in by the Argentine ace.
The Dane was also called upon to keep out James Milner and another Johnson attempt as he celebrated a new contract with eight saves but unfortunately was on the losing team as City continue to flex their attacking, and on this case, defensive muscle with a second clean sheet on the trot after seven matches without a shutout.
