PREMIER LEAGUE: Late Odemwingie strike gives West Brom victory at Blackburn

West Bromwich Albion have taken all three points back to The Hawthorns courtesy of a 2-1 win over Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park today.

The victory came about thanks to two brilliant Baggies goals, either side of Scott Dann’s clever finish for the Rovers, as Roy Hodgson’s men moved up to 13th as Steve Kean’s charges remained second bottom with their sixth home loss of the campaign.

West Brom took the lead in the 52nd minute when Chris Brunt’s corner was cleared only as far as the top of the ‘D’ where James Morrison was waiting to send a magnificently-timed volley into the back of the net past a hapless Paul Robinson.

20 minutes later and the Rovers were level when Robinson’s long ball found Chris Samba in the area as the defender placed a perfect header into the path of Dann who slid in at the back post with Ben Foster stranded for his first goal for the club.

It looked set for a draw until some individual brilliance from Peter Odemwingie who made a nice run down the right flank before cutting back inside to send a sweet shot past Robinson in the 89th minute to see the Baggies triumph.

TRIBAL ASKS: At full flight, is Peter Odemwingie one of the classiest strikers in the Premier League?

West Bromwich Albion: 2 (James Morrison 52’, Peter Odemwingie 89’)
