Reading director of football Nick Hammond does not expect Dave Kitson or Glen Little to return to the Madejski Stadium next season. Stoke striker Kitson and Portsmouth winger Little returned on loan but failed to make an impact as the Royals crashed out in the play-offs.

Hammond told the Reading Evening Post: "Kits is now a Stoke player.

"There was no agreement that he would sign permanently had we gone up. That would have been a discussion you can only have at the end of the season.

"Glen will now go back to Pompey where he is contracted. They still have one game to go. I don't think either player will be back at Reading."
