The Premier League will pass a decision on Chinese businessman Gao Jisheng's proposed takeover of Southampton next week.

Southampton have been subject to a £210million takeover bid from Lander Holdings boss Gao Jisheng and the Chinese businessman is looking to purchase 80% stake in the South Coast club from Katharina Liebherr.

The completion of Jisheng's proposed deal will depend on whether or not he will pass the fit and proper persons test to be conducted by the Premier League, and there is still a possibility that the big money move could be shelved as the wealthy entrepreneur has had corruption accusations leveled against him in the past.
