Premier League clubs spend little on deadline day

Premier League clubs kept their chequebooks closed on transfer deadline day.

Just £65m was spent by Premier League bosses during January — less than the cost of Fernando Torres and Andy Carroll last year.

But deals were done with Louis Saha joining Spurs and Steven Pienaar going the other way to Everton.
