Premier League clubs are considering a radical change to shirt sponsorship.
The Daily Mail says clubs are looking to increase their revenues by having more than one sponsor's name on their kit.
Initial approaches have been made to the League about changing the commercial regulations to allow clubs the opportunity to sell space on their shirts to multiple backers, rather than the one sponsor currently allowed.
The PL are examining the proposal, which would need majority support among the 20 clubs, but don't want to go down the Formula One route of multi-sponsorship branding.
Barcelona will provide a test case as they intend to have both their charity partners UNICEF and their £125million record-breaking sponsors the Qatar Foundation on the jerseys.
And Tottenham received permission from the PL this season to have a League backer in Autonomy and Investec on their cup shirts.
