PREMIER LEAGUE: Cisse at the double again as Newcastle down Swansea on Good Friday

Newcastle United have made it four wins on end in the Premier League with a 2-0 win on the road at Swansea City today.

The Easter weekend kicked off with a double from Papiss Cisse who is proving to be one of the buys of the season after the £10million winter signing netted a second successive match-winning brace to make it nine goals in eight appearances for the Magpies.

The travelling Toon took a very early lead when Cisse latched onto a neat first-time ball from Yohan Cabaye to send an angled shot across Michel Vorm from the edge of the area for his eighth goal since joining the club in January.

With just over 20 minutes remaining, Cisse scored against the run of play when he received another through ball from Cabaye on the left and with his first touch getting stuck under his feet, the Senegal ace managed to produce a remarkable curling dink over Ashley Williams and into Vorm's far corner to make it 2-0.

As usual, the Swans had the lion's share of possession with almost 80% in the first half and although they forced Newcastle keeper Tim Krul into seven saves, they came up short to be beaten for the third match in a row for the first time in the Premier League.

On the half-hour mark, a venomous Gylfi Sigurdsson attempt from range had Krul acrobatically fisting over the crossbar before the Icelandic midfielder blasted just wide early in the second half.

Krul was again on his game to keep out Joe Allen's deflected attempt in the 53rd minute before safely holding Steven Caulker's header.

Apart from that, nothing really tested the Dutchman who, along with his defence, were able to keep a clean sheet for the third time in four outings which has allowed them to go above Chelsea and into fifth position on the table as Swansea remains 11th.
