Bournemouth placed another feather in their Premier League cap by beating Southampton 2-0 at the Vitality Stadium on Tuesday.
Eddie Howe's side secured their eighth win of the season courtesy of goals either side of half-time from Steve Cook and Benik Afobe to condemn the Saints to two straight losses following their six-game unbeaten run.
The opening goal came in the 31st minute when Fraser Forster swatted away Matt Ritchie's tricky free-kick only for defender Cook to acrobatically sent it back past him with a close range volley.
There were a few half-chances throughout before Afobe worked his way to the front to glance a lovely header home from Ritchie's floated set-piece which in the end, guided the Cherries to their first league win over the Saints since 1958.
Bournemouth remained 15th on the table but are now eight points clear of the drop zone while Ronald Koeman's Southampton stayed seventh despite losing for the second time in a few days.
