Bolton drew at home for the first time this season, 1-1, with fellow strugglers Wolves and will enter the New Year bottom of the Premier League. Bolton started brightly and took the lead but once Wolves had levelled after the break they then looked the more likely to register a win.
The Wanderers have an abysmal home record having become the first club in English top-flight history to lose eight of their opening nine home matches in a season but quickly got into their stride with a goal in the 21st minute.
A brilliant strike from the returning Samuel Ricketts after ten months out separated the two teams at half-time. There was further encouragement for the Wanderers after the restart but keeper Wayne Hennessey kept the visitor's in the game.
Wolves equaliser came when Matt Jarvis whipped in a free kick and Steven Fletcher was left unmarked to stoop and head the leveller.
Now it was Bolton keeper Jussi Jaaskelainen's turn to make the saves as the Midlanders pressed for a winner.
For the Trotters it was their first point after going 26 games without a draw.
