Italy coach Cesare Prandelli did not think twice selecting AS Roma pair Daniele De Rossi and Pablo Daniel Osvaldo.

The pair were left out of the Roma side on Sunday.

Prandelli said: "Osvaldo and De Rossi? Zdenek Zeman obviously had fresher players at his disposal. I don't really have anything in particular to say about it.

"De Rossi and Osvaldo have always been at my disposal on national duty and they've been able to train twice a day. Knowing Zeman, it may have been a type of provocation.

"We have two players who are not in great psychological shape in De Rossi and Balotelli. We'll need to work on their pride."
