Francesco Totti and Daniele de Rossi both were on the scoresheet for Roma and Prandelli said: “It was an ugly night and we never really got into it. Every now and then some players struggle to play a third game in a week, but if we are in all these competitions then we have to go in there from the start.
“We basically didn't play at all in the first half. We were very static in defence and stretched out, lacking in organisation.
“It could well be our worst performance since I have been at Fiorentina. We weren't aggressive, pushing forward or focused in defence.
“In those nights when things aren't going well, you need to stay solid and united. It wasn't a lack of fitness, as in the second half we picked up the pace. The truth is we didn't get into the game right from the start.
“We are Fiorentina and must have the hunger to overcome all the obstacles that are put in front of us.”
