Fiorentina coach Cesare Prandelli has welcomed the raft of summer signings made so far.
"We have made a splash on the transfer market and if these players show their full potential, then Fiorentina can become a main protagonist in the coming season," said Prandelli.
"Vargas is an arrival we were waiting for, he has personality and strength but, like Manuel Pasqual, needs to improve his defensive skills.
"Jovetic is a talent who can develop very well and I see him as an attacking midfielder who when needed can play upfront."
He added: "If Jovetic confirms what is expected of him, I am thinking of a rhombus midfield in a 4-3-1-2, although I would like a squad capable of changing system when needed."
