Sunderland boss Gus Poyet is adamant the players are with him.
Poyet insists he won't walk away but he has cut a disconsolate figure in recent weeks, clashing with the media and fans.
Asked if he had lost the dressing room, the Uruguayan said: "If I did, then I am living in another world.
"It is totally not the case and is nothing to do with that.
"We had the best week of training for a while but sometimes in football when you think you are in a good position, you get brought down.
"I am just doing what I need to do," he added. "At the moment I cannot think about that.
"I need to think about this job and start putting things right."
