Poyet explains Defoe absence for Sunderland FA Cup defeat

Sunderland boss Gus Poyet explained Jermain Defoe's absence for their FA Cup defeat at Bradford City.

Defoe was absent at Bradford, with Poyet revealing the striker was suffering from a calf problem.

"He had a calf injury," Poyet said. "I didn't want to give away too much information, though.

"He has a little problem with his calf, but we don't know how long he is going to be [out]."
