Poyet ecstatic as Sunderland produce comeback win over Chelsea

Gus Poyet was absolutely delighted to see his Sunderland side come over the top of Chelsea in Tuesday night's Capital One Cup quarter-final.

The Black Cats saw an 88th minute goal from substitute Fabio Borini and an extra-time winner from Ki Sung-yueng send them through to the final four of the league cup after Lee Cattermole's 46th-minute own-goal gave Chelsea the lead.

After the 2-1 victory, Poyet spoke highly of his players who he hopes can turn that victory into positive form in the Premier League.

"That is massive," he told Sky Sports.

"People ask me before, which one do you want to win? Both - I hope we can win on Saturday."

In regards to the win being the catalyst for things to come, Poyet added: "I hope so.

"That was the idea we want, to maintain that consistency.

"They played fantastic, they didn't stop.

"They gave everything today and I hope they have turned the corner."
