Sunderland boss Gus Poyet is determined for Jack Rodwell to prove his worth.

The midfielder arrived in the summer from Manchester City.

Rodwell, 23, has lacked form and fitness, with a groin injury his latest problem.

Poyet said: "I'm looking forward to making sure it works out. It's like a personal challenge. He's one of my signings and I'm trying hard for him."
