Poyet can walk out on Sunderland next week

Gus Poyet could quit Sunderland after Sunday.

The Daily Mail says there is a clause in his contract that allows him to leave for a new job this summer which was activated by Sunderland avoiding relegation.

Poyet will hold talks with owner Ellis Short and Margaret Byrne after Sunday's clash against Swansea, a meeting that is likely to prove pivotal in determining the Uruguayan's future.

He hopes for greater control over the club's footballing operation.
