Poulsen delighted with winning Liverpool debut

Christian Poulsen was delighted with his Liverpool debut in their Europa League win over Trabzonspor.

The former Juventus midfielder played his first 90 minutes for the club during the Europa League Play-off and felt at home playing in the red shirt for the first time.

"It was something really special being out on the pitch hearing the Kop singing 'You'll Never Walk Alone," Poulsen told Liverpoolfc.tv. "I was sat in the stand for the Arsenal game and it was great to see it, but to be out there on the pitch with them tonight was fantastic.

"It was nice to play 90 minutes and it felt good to be out there and I am looking forward to playing many more games for this club.

"We probably should have won by more than one goal but we kept a clean sheet which is always important in Europe. We missed a penalty and we had some good chances but didn't take them. I thought we were much better in the second half and we had a bit more control of the game.

"We know we have a job to do next week. It will be a tough match over in Turkey but we'll be ready for it."
