Postecoglou extends Brisbane Roar deal

2010/11 A-LeagueChampionship coach Ange Postecoglou has extended his contract with the Brisbane Roar. Postecoglou led the Roar to a record-breaking season in Australia's domestic competition as they produced a 28-game unbeaten run, culminating in the Premiership/Championship double.

There were rumours circulating that Postecoglou would perhaps leave Brisbane to return to Melbourne with either the Victory or the Heart but the former Australia U20 coach has put that speculation to bed by signing a two-year extension to remain at the helm of the Roar.

"Ever since we started to build something in Brisbane I have said that I was very keen to stay and continue the work that we began," Postecoglou said.

"It was always a long term vision and it is fantastic to have the opportunity to see it through and I am very pleased to be able to continue here in Brisbane and see how far we can go."

Postecoglou and the Roar will be involved in the Asian Champions League next season as they strive to defend their maiden A-League title domestically.
