Archie Thompson will be fit enough to show Australian national team boss Holger Osieck what he is capable of in upcoming internationals.
The 33-year old striker was recently named in Osieck's 26-man Socceroos squad for the June 2 friendly with Denmark ahead of 2014 World Cup qualifiers against Oman and Japan in Muscat and Brisbane respectively.
Some critics suggested that Thompson was not ready for national team selection but after putting in a full 90 minutes for Melbourne Victory against Olympiakos on the weekend, head coach Ange Postecoglou feels the speedy attacker is in fine fettle.
"From a fitness point of view, Holger will know that he's okay. For the most part, he looked pretty sharp.
"He got in behind, he caused some problems and got his pen and maybe could've had one more in terms of opportunities. I think he feels pretty good at the end of the game.
"I'm sure if there were any doubts about his fitness, they'd be dispelled now.""I thought he looked sharp. We wanted to keep him out there for 90 minutes. He ran the game out pretty well. He still ran pretty hard at the end," Postecoglou said.
