POSSESSION TABLE: How do Guardiola’s Man City compare to Mourinho’s Man Utd?

Possession is a big part of modern day football.

Just ask Pep Guardiola.

The Spaniard has always relied on having the ball at the feet of his players at past clubs Barcelona and Bayern Munich, and it is no different in 2016 with Manchester City.

Pep has City bossing the Premier League when it comes to possession-based football and it is paying dividends as they currently sit on top of the table after seven matches.

Jurgen Klopp has also bought a keepings-off style to Liverpool which has them in great form on the back of four straight league wins.

Arsene Wenger has never made a secret of his desire for Arsenal to keep hold of the ball while Antonio Conte is eager for Chelsea to do the same.

The direct correlation between possession stats and position on the top flight table is quite interesting with only West Bromwich Albion and Middlesbrough bucking the trend.
