Positivity beginning to pay off for Scotland - Norwich's Whittaker

Steven Whittaker says confidence in the Scotland camp is high as they prepare for Tuesday's encounter with Macedonia.

The Scots take on the Former Yugoslav Republic in Skopje in a World Cup qualifier and Norwich City defender Whittaker feels there is plenty of positivity around despite the fact the team sits on the bottom of the qualifying table.

"Macedonia is going to be tough but we believe we can go there and get a result to get momentum going into the Croatia game (in October)," Whittaker told the Daily Star.

"We have played some good stuff the last few games because we are getting more positive. Hopefully we can start creating chances and getting goals and results.

"We do that by working hard, listening to the manager and putting it out there on the pitch.

"We believe we have the players in the changing room to get the results. The performances have been there the last few games but we want the results to match that."
