The president of the Portuguese players' union has sided with Real Madrid in their row with national team bosses over the selection of Cristiano Ronaldo.
Joaquim Evangelista said: "Common sense has to prevail, because we're talking about the health of Cristiano Ronaldo.
"The reality is that Cristiano is injured. If not, Real would have used him already.
"I hope the tension between Real Madrid and the Portuguese Federation can end. Cristiano's health is important and all parties must understand that."
