Miguel Angel Portugal is quitting as coach of Racing Santander to join the football staff at Real Madrid.

Portugal will become football director at Real and will work alongside Pedja Mijatovic, who will remain as the club's sports director in charge of hiring of firing.

Portugal could be handed a three-year contract by Real and will have a say on the senior team's future signings, along with a major influence on the junior talent that comes to the club.
