Portugal legend Paulo Sousa is set to be named new manager of QPR after talks last night with club owner Flavio Briatore.
Briatore was tempted to appoint himself as Iain Dowie's successor at Loftus Road but has instead turned to the former Inter Milan and Juventus midfielder, who is currently assistant manager to Carlos Queiroz with the Portuguese national team.
It means Gareth Ainsworth, who has been coaching the team since Dowie's departure last month, will be moved aside after failing to convince Briatore.
