Portsmouth's Primus to train with LA Galaxy

Portsmouth favourite Linvoy Primus will train at David Beckham's Los Angeles Galaxy as he completes his rehabilitation from knee surgery.

The 34-year-old defender will have the use of the Major League Soccer club's facilities after taking up an offer to link up with former Pompey masseur Chris Neville, who now works for the Galaxy.

The popular former Reading and Barnet centre-half said: "I'm going out to Los Angeles to get a good week's work under my belt.

"There's no problem with the knee. It's just a nice place to go to focus on getting it completely right.

"I've been working at the same intensity and keeping the strength in my legs since the end of the season and it's important to me that I'm as ready as the rest of the lads when I join in with pre-season training."
