Portsmouth fullback Lauren admits he hasn't been at his best this season.

The former Arsenal midfielder told the Portsmouth News: "I am back in the team and although I feel a lot from my best I have to take it step-by-step. I will get better if I keep playing and not getting any injuries, people will be able to see that.

"The fans haven't seen the best of me yet, I just hope I can continue to play and then I can get to my level. I am enjoying it but you think you can do more, that's how I feel. I can do much more, better passes and getting forward. I will get used to that.

"My time at Portsmouth has been frustrating. You try to get by and then you have massive problems with injuries over and over again. I played a few games over Christmas which has helped me.

"Now with one or two more games I will get to my best, definitely."
