Portsmouth still have hopes of landing Liverpool winger Jermaine Pennant.
The Mail on Sunday says Pennant has rejected a move to Portsmouth because he wants to run down his Liverpool contract and make a lucrative free transfer in the summer.
But he may have to reconsider as Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez will tell the winger he has no future at Anfield and will not figure this season.
Pompey boss Tony Adams agreed a fee with Liverpool, but the former Arsenal winger has asked for time to consider the switch.
