Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp is preparing a bid for Bolton Wanderers striker Nicolas Anelka.
The Daily Star says Redknapp is turning to Anelka after losing out to Newcastle United for Middlesbrough's Bosman prospect Mark Viduka.
Manchester United have also been linked with Anelka since the end of the season.
