Reports in Germany suggest Portsmouth have failed in their efforts to sign Bayer Leverkusen's, Tranquillo Barnetta. The Swiss international reportedly invited a bid of £7.75m from Pompey.

The 23 year old believes he made the choice in turning down the opportunity to move to the Premier League, claiming he is more than happy in Germany.

"It did not even take me two seconds to decide to stay at Bayer," he said.

"I am very happy at this club."
