Portsmouth hope to land Le Mans goalkeeper Yoann Pele next month.

The Sun says Pompey are lining up a £1m bid for Pele.

The club's England star David James is another potential target for Tottenham next month and boss Adams has set his sights on 6ft 5in giant Pele, 26, just in case.

Pele, who won a call-up to the France squad for the clash with Tunisia in October, has said he hopes to move to England. He has already rejected a four-year contract at Roma.
