Portsmouth, Sunderland go for Chelsea attacker Sinclair

Portsmouth and Sunderland are going head-to-head for £4 million-rated Chelsea starlet Scott Sinclair.

The Mirror says Pompey boss Harry Redknapp's top scout Ian Broomfield and Roy Keane's chief talent-spotter Mick Brown watched jet-heeled prospect Sinclair - on loan at Crystal Palace - dazzle Stoke on Monday.

Sinclair's Stamford Bridge future is unclear, with boss Avram Grant happy to send him out on loan and yet to be convinced he is potential first-team material.
