Portsmouth star Kranjcar ignoring speculation

Niko Kranjcar has dismissed speculation linking him with a move to Panathinaikos. The midfielder admits he would have to consider his future if Portsmouth were relegated but he is determined for that not to happen.

Speaking about the Panathinaikos connection, he told the Greek media: "What has happened in the last few days is not the best for me.

"I am a player of Portsmouth and this is what everybody has to understand.

"Believe me, I never said in Croatia that Panathinaikos is one of my choices. I really like Portsmouth and I will try my best to help them to avoid relegation.

"I don't know why everybody believes that Portsmouth will be relegated."

Kranjcar insists that he would want to stay in England next season, even if Portsmouth do go down.

He explained: "If we are going to play Premier League football next season I have no reason to discuss my future. If not, we will see.

"My main target is to keep playing Premier League football. I believe that I have the quality to stay in the Premier League.

"About Arsenal and Tottenham, I can say that I have nothing official so far.

"Right now I am a player of Portsmouth and I am concentrating on my job here.

"About Pana? They are a big club with success in European competitions but my priority is to stay in England."
