Portsmouth midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng is set to play for Ghana at the World Cup.
Boateng has been called up to Ghana's World Cup squad having finally been issued with his passport by the African country's government.
The Portsmouth midfielder, who has played for Germany Under-21s, is expected to receive final approval from Fifa to play in the tournament after being selected by his new country for the first time.
Boateng first contacted Ghana about switching allegiances two years ago. He will join a squad that includes Michael Essien, though the Chelsea player is struggling with injury, as well as John Mensah and John Pantsil, of Sunderland and Fulham respectively.
