Portsmouth are expected to announce the signing of striker Luke Varney from Derby County.

The 28-year old is likely to become a Pompey player with a transfer fee of around £750,000 set to get the deal over the line.

Varney was keen to return to Blackpool, where he impressed in the Premier League last season, but reports suggest that he will land at Fratton Park quite possibly on the weekend.
